Pattern The duster and trench coat are similar to the PJ top. The difference is that the duster and trench coat are larger, and longer and the duster has 3 more pieces.
If you have used the PJ top pattern you should be able to use this one
Duster & Trench coat Directions
The only diffrance between the duster and the tranch coat is that the duster has an exter cape sholder cape sown in and a diffrent callor if you are making the trench coat skip to step 3.
DUSTER CAPELET
Step 1
Start with DUSTER CAPELET FRONT and DUSTER CAPELET BACK hem ,hem11 B
STEP 2
With all the rights facing up ,aline seam 1 & 2 , seam 7 and seam 5 stay stitch DUSTER CAPELET FRONT down to DUSTER FRONT and stay stitch DUSTER CAPELET BACK down to DUSTER BACK. ..
Body
WITH right sides together Pen and sew DUSTER FRONT to DUSTER BACK at seam 1 & 2.
Collar
With right sides together pen and sew DUSTER COLLAR or TRENCH COAT COLLAR around top and sides at seam 3 leave seam 4 open.
Turn right sides out and iron flat
Start center back and pen DUSTER COLLAR to DUSTER FRONT and PJ SHIRT BACK at seam 4. Starting in the center helps line up the ends,
Stitch COLLAR to DUSTER COLLAR and DUSTER FRONT at seam 4..
Facing
with right sides together, pen and sew DUSTER FACING to DUSTER FRONT at seam 4 and seam 6.
It is very important that the collar is between DUSTER FACING to DUSTER FRONT. When sewing..
Carefully cut off the corner, were seam 4 meets seam 6. Do not cut the seam.
Turn DUSTER FACING to the inside.
Iron DUSTER FACING
CUFF
Fold CUFF wrong sides together at crease line so that the two seam 10s line up.
Ironing cuff flat will help with the next step.
Pin CUFF to right side of DUSTER SLEEVE at seam 10 make sure all three seam 10s are aliened.
Stitch CUFF to right side of DUSTER SLEEVE At seam 10
Fold CUFF out so that it lays flat
Iron seam allowance with the seam allowance pointed towage seam 7.
Sleeves
Full size patters sleeves have a front and a back but for dolls we can get away with booth sides of the sleeve being the same cut.
With right sides together Pen and sew PJ SHIRT SLEEVE to PJ SHIRT FRONT and PJ SHIRT BACK. AT SEAM 7
With right sides together sew seam 5 from crease line of cuff all the way up the sleeve down the front back seam all the way down to hem 11.
Now is the time to test fit the shirt on the doll .If you would like the shirt to be tighter sew another seam 1/8th inch in from the one above (seam 5) be sure to do the same on each side. keep taking shirt up 1/8 inch at a time unto it is as tight as you like.
